Division of Legal Affairs, Walailak University Participates in Legal Literacy Training Program for Higher Education Personnel 2026
On 5–6 March 2026, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the Human Resource Management Network of the Council of University Staff of Thailand (CUST) – Working Group 3, organized a training program titled “Enhancing Legal Literacy for Higher Education Professionals 2026” at the Mandarin Hotel, Bangkok.
The training aimed to enhance legal knowledge and strengthen the professional capacity of personnel working in higher education institutions, particularly those involved in human resource management and related administrative roles. The program covered key legal topics relevant to university operations, including general laws applicable to university personnel, disciplinary procedures and appeals, administrative law, and principles regarding the tort liability of government officials.
The program featured distinguished legal experts who delivered lectures on various important legal topics:
- On 5 March 2026, the session “Essential Laws for University Personnel” was delivered by Prof. Dr. Thongthong Chandrangsu, President of the Council of Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University. Another lecture titled “Legal Principles on Tort Liability of State Officials” was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pramote Sermsilatham from the Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University.
- On 6 March 2026, participants attended the lecture “Disciplinary Procedures and Appeals for University Personnel” delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manit Chumpha from the Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University, followed by “General Administrative Law in University Administration” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Woraphol Malasukhum, also from the Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University.
On this occasion, Ms. Janjira Searaksa, Legal Officer from the Legal Affairs Unit, Walailak University Medical Center, participated in the training program to further develop her legal expertise and strengthen the legal capacity of the university. The knowledge gained from this program will contribute to enhancing legal practices and supporting effective, lawful, and transparent administration within the university.
