General Administration and Administrative Services Unit Administration, planning, finance, procurement, and information systems

Responsibilities

  • Administrative operations and office systems
  • Meetings, seminars, and training programs of the Division of Legal Affairs
  • Correspondence, finance, procurement, personnel, and budgeting
  • Procurement, supplies, and asset-management systems
  • Internal control and risk management
  • Planning and strategy
  • Central administrative support for the Division
  • Development of legal information services
  • Information systems, website, databases, and public-relations media

Legal Transactions and Contracts Unit Contracts, agreements, debt recovery, and intellectual property

Responsibilities

  • Handle legal transactions and prepare all types of contracts
  • Prepare cooperation agreements with private organizations, government agencies, and international organizations, including public-private joint-venture agreements
  • Provide consultation, review, analysis, and legal opinions on civil and administrative legal relationships and relevant facts
  • Monitor and recover debts arising from legal transactions and contracts
  • Review and develop relevant University rules, regulations, procedures, requirements, and announcements
  • Develop legal databases to support academic services in Thailand and abroad
  • Develop and deliver legal education and training
  • Promote legal compliance and prevent violations of law
  • Support the legal work of the University Legal Advisory Committee
  • Provide legal support to the secretariat of the University Appeals and Grievance Committee
  • Protect intellectual property related to University resources
  • Provide legal consultation

Investigation Unit Fact-finding, disciplinary matters, liability, and ethics

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all types of investigations, including procurement fact-finding, tort liability of public officials, personnel-management matters, student discipline, personnel discipline and ethics or codes of conduct, and other investigations assigned by the University
  • Review and develop relevant University rules, regulations, procedures, requirements, and announcements
  • Develop legal databases to support academic services in Thailand and abroad
  • Develop and deliver legal education and training
  • Promote legal compliance and prevent violations of law
  • Support the legal work of the University Legal Advisory Committee
  • Provide legal support to the secretariat of the University Appeals and Grievance Committee
  • Provide legal consultation

  • Represent and defend the University in administrative, civil, criminal, corruption-related criminal, bankruptcy, intellectual-property, and international-trade cases, including civil and administrative disputes
  • Review and develop relevant University rules, regulations, procedures, requirements, and announcements
  • Develop legal databases to support academic services in Thailand and abroad
  • Develop and deliver legal education and training
  • Promote legal compliance and prevent violations of law
  • Support the legal work of the University Legal Advisory Committee
  • Provide legal support to the secretariat of the University Appeals and Grievance Committee
  • Provide legal consultation

Medical Center Legal Affairs Unit Legal support for Walailak University Medical Center

Responsibilities

  • Handle all types of legal transactions and contracts relating to the Medical Center
  • Handle all types of litigation involving the Medical Center
  • Conduct investigations relating to the Medical Center
  • Develop legal frameworks and provide academic legal services for the Medical Center
  • Review and develop relevant University rules, regulations, procedures, requirements, and announcements
  • Develop legal databases to support academic services in Thailand and abroad
  • Develop and deliver legal education and training
  • Promote legal compliance and prevent violations of law
  • Support the legal work of the University Legal Advisory Committee
  • Provide legal support to the secretariat of the University Appeals and Grievance Committee
  • Provide legal consultation
  • Provide general administration and clerical support for the Medical Center Legal Affairs Unit
