Advancing Personal Data Protection at Walailak University

On Tuesday, 11 August 2026, at 1:30 PM at Meeting Room 2/1, Professor Dr. Vichit Srisa-an Building, of Walailak University. the Personal Data Protection Committee Walailak University Meeting No. 2/2026 was convened. The Division of Legal Affairs, Walailak University served as the Committee Secretariat and organized the meeting to advance the University’s personal data protection operations in an efficient manner and in compliance with applicable laws.

LEGAL FRAMEWORK

Operating Under Applicable Laws and University Regulations

The meeting was conducted in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) which became fully enforceable on 1 June 2022, together with the University’s Walailak University Regulation on Personal Data Protection, B.E. 2569 (2026).

In addition, the University issued Walailak University Order No. 635/2569 dated 16 March 2026, appointing the Personal Data Protection Committee of Walailak University to oversee, monitor, and support the University’s to the University’s personal data governance.

ROLE OF THE LEGAL AFFAIRS DIVISION

Continuous Support and Follow-up

The Division of Legal Affairs, Walailak University , in its capacity as the Committee Secretariat, will continue to coordinate, follow up, and support implementation of the Committee’s resolutions and operational guidelines.

These efforts aim to strengthen the University’s personal data governance system, enhance awareness among personnel, and build confidence in the effective protection of personal data subjects’ rights across the University in a tangible and sustainable manner.
