The Division of Legal Affairs, Walailak University, organized the workshop “Focus Group: WU Legal Change for Growth” as a platform for executives and personnel of the Division of Legal Affairs to exchange opinions, analyze problems, limitations, and actual workloads, and jointly design a new administrative structure for the Division. The aim was to develop a structure that is appropriate, flexible, and responsive to future work requirements.

The activity was held on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Meeting Room 4, Science and Technology Park Building. Approximately 20 participants attended the event, including the Vice President for Administration and Sustainable Development, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Warit Jawjit  the Assistant to the President for Human Resources and staff; as well as personnel from the Division of Legal Affairs.

The objective of this activity was to collaboratively design a new administrative structure for the Division of Legal Affairs that can accommodate the increasingly diverse and complex legal missions of the University. These include contract and legal transaction affairs, investigation affairs, litigation affairs, legal affairs related to the Medical Center, as well as general administration and administrative support. The activity also aimed to promote concrete career advancement opportunities for personnel.

The workshop consisted of knowledge-sharing sessions and brainstorming activities, including reflection on the problems of the current structure, analysis of strengths to be maintained, defining the future direction of the Division of Legal Affairs over the next three years, grouping legal affairs missions, drafting a new structure, presenting draft models through a Gallery Walk process, and selecting a structure that is practical, feasible, and capable of addressing key issues effectively.

The activity was honored by Asst.Prof.Dr. Nopporn Thamrongrat, Assistant to the President for Human Resources and Organization, together with Acting Deputy Director of Walailak University Medical Center, Asst.Prof. Pavarud Puangsri, who served as process facilitators to support an effective brainstorming process.

The expected outcome of this activity is to obtain guidelines and conclusions for restructuring the internal work division of the Division of Legal Affairs. This will help enhance the efficiency of the University’s legal operations, align with the principles of good governance, and support the sustainable growth of Walailak University.
