On Friday, 10 July 2026, the Division of Legal Affairs, Walailak University,
welcomed the 5S Workplace Assessment Committee for Fiscal Year 2026.
The Committee conducted an on-site inspection and assessed the Division’s
workplace organization, working environment, and implementation of 5S activities.
The assessment was conducted to monitor the Division’s compliance with the criteria
and standards established by the University. It also sought to encourage staff participation
in developing a workplace that is orderly, clean, safe, and conducive to efficient operations.
5S Principles

Essential practices for creating an orderly, safe,
and fully functional workplace.
Sort
Separate essential documents, materials, and equipment from items that are no longer required.
Unnecessary items are handled appropriately to reduce clutter and improve the efficient use of space.
Set in Order
Arrange documents, office equipment, and materials systematically,
with clear labels and designated storage locations, so that items can be located and used promptly.
Shine
Maintain the cleanliness of office areas, workstations, filing cabinets,
office equipment, and shared spaces to create a suitable and pleasant working environment.
Standardize
Maintain consistent standards of orderliness and cleanliness,
while ensuring that the workplace remains safe, appropriate, and supportive of staff well-being.
Sustain
Foster discipline and continuous staff participation in 5S activities
until these practices become an integral part of daily operations.
Workplace Inspection
The Committee reviewed the Division’s document and information management practices
to ensure that they were systematic and appropriate for legal and administrative work.
The review covered document classification, designated storage areas,
and measures for safeguarding confidential information.
The Committee also examined the placement of equipment and other items
to ensure safety, prevent obstruction of work areas and access routes,
and facilitate convenient use.
Staff Participation
Staff members of the Division of Legal Affairs provided information on the implementation
of 5S activities, the allocation of areas of responsibility,
routine inspection and monitoring procedures, and approaches to improving the working environment.
The assessment also provided a valuable opportunity to receive observations
and recommendations from the Committee, which will be used to further strengthen
and enhance the effectiveness of the Division’s 5S implementation.

Summary of the 5S Workplace Assessment
The 5S workplace assessment for Fiscal Year 2026 found that the Division of Legal Affairs
had organized its office space and working environment systematically.
Areas of responsibility were clearly assigned, documents and office equipment were stored by category,
and appropriate measures were in place to maintain cleanliness and workplace safety.
Division staff actively participated in 5S activities and placed importance on maintaining
a positive working environment. These practices facilitate the retrieval of documents and equipment,
reduce duplication and processing time, and contribute to a professional organizational image.
The 5S workplace assessment of the Division of Legal Affairs
was completed successfully.
The Committee commended the cooperation demonstrated by staff,
the orderly condition of the workplace, and the Division’s commitment
to the continuous improvement of its working environment.
The Committee provided constructive recommendations concerning the maintenance of standards,
improvements to document and equipment storage systems, and the further development of the workplace
to ensure greater convenience, safety, and suitability for operational requirements.
The Division of Legal Affairs will incorporate the Committee’s recommendations
into its improvement measures and planning for 5S activities in the next fiscal year.
This will support higher workplace standards, a positive working environment,
and a systematic, efficient, and sustainable organizational culture.
